My Wish Charity Launch - Scotland

Our Sister Charity 'My Wish' was launched in UK on 08th November in one of the Glasgow’s most stylish restaurants. The launch was extremely successful and was enhanced by the beautiful guitar playing of Dr. Martin Taylor MBE and his friends Marcus Ford and Alison Burns.

The founder and chairperson of My Wish, Mrs. Nelum Arachchige, delivered the presentation and explained the aims of the charity and the work progress in Sri Lanka.

The advisor and a trustee of My Wish, Venerable Rewatha Thero welcomed the guests who had the opportunity to watch a short documentary film about children at the cancer hospital in Colombo.

The Patron, Martin Taylor addressed the audience and highlighted the importance of the charity and why everyone should support My Wish.

Martin said; “I am very proud to be a patron of ‘My Wish’. It's very easy for those of us living in the UK to take for granted the excellent health care our sick children receive, but in Sri Lanka very few people have access to the kind of medical help we all enjoy here”.

Many desperately ill children in Sri Lanka need our help. Parents in Sri Lanka not only have to deal with the emotional stress and heartbreak of seeing their sick child suffer, but having a seriously sick child in Sri Lanka also brings terrible financial difficulties to these families.

As a parent who has experienced the pain of losing a son, I feel passionately about helping these children and their families during such difficult times.

Even very small acts of generosity and compassion from us can help these children and their families, and they need our help now.”
